Bargain hunters can bid on cheap road and gravel bikes from Forme, as part of a massive sale of Moore Large stock.
The British cycling distributor went into administration in March, and around 35,000 bikes are being auctioned off by John Pye Auctions.
The latest lots include ten Forme Monyash 2 road bikes and ten Forme Monsal 2 gravel bikes, both worth £1,000 each. The road bikes have Shimano Claris drivetrains and carbon forks, while the gravel bikes have Microshift 1x 10-speed drivetrains and WTB Tyres. The current bids are around £150 and £350 respectively, which means savings of over 80%.
The auctions end at 7pm (BST) on Wednesday 17 May, and you can view the bikes in person at John Pye’s saleroom in Port Talbot, Wales. You can also bid online (opens in new tab), but be aware of the extra costs, such as a 25% premium, 20% VAT and £35 delivery fee. You can avoid the delivery fee by collecting the bikes yourself from Port Talbot.
There are also other bikes on offer, mostly from Forme, Barracuda and Flite, as well as bike parts and cycling accessories, such as clothing, helmets and trailers. Some of these items have very low bids, so you might find a real bargain.
Charles Loake, joint head of John Pye Business & Property, said: “Since Covid, cycling as a hobby has increased exponentially, so this an opportunity for enthusiasts to potentially secure some big name bikes and accessories at a great price.
“We have the systems and knowledge in place to ensure we can sell the Moore Large & Co. stock with the highest level of efficiency and return for its creditors.”
