Tom Pidcock is taking his new Pinarello Dogma off-road

Pinarello has unveiled a new Dogma XC mountain bike that will be ridden by Ineos Grenadiers stars Tom Pidcock and Pauline Ferrand-Prévot in the 2023 season, starting with this weekend’s UCI World Cup opener in Nove Mesto, Czechia.

The bike is a prototype that will be available to buy in 2024. It features a unique split rear triangle design, adjustable suspension, an integrated cockpit and a cut out bottom bracket area.

Pidcock and Ferrand-Prévot have both been involved in the development of the bike, which aims to meet their high standards as multi-discipline champions. Pidcock won the Olympic gold medal in mountain biking in 2022, riding an unbranded BMC Fourstroke. Ferrand-Prévot has 10 world titles across road, mountain biking, cyclo-cross and gravel.

The Dogma XC is Pinarello’s first cross country bike since 2019. The Italian brand says it has a dedicated mountain bike R&D team that worked closely with the riders to create a bike that is stiff, light, agile and versatile.

Fausto Pinarello, the CEO of Pinarello, said: “Seeing Tom and Pauline competing on the Dogma XC is going to be a landmark moment for everyone at Pinarello. We’ve worked tirelessly over the last months to build a bike that meets the demands of two of the very best cyclists on the planet, and we can’t wait to see how they ride it at Nové Město.”

Pidcock said: “I’ve never really been involved in the development process of a bike before, but it’s something I’m definitely enjoying and Pinarello’s engineers are committed to producing bikes that help us win races. The Dogma XC is ultimately fast and I’m looking forward to racing it.”

We took a look back at Pidcock’s career in pictures when he signed for Ineos in 2021.
